From my experience a good entrepreneur learns to set up his/her own business and has his/her own ideas. Start doing some research. Anything and everything. Starting a business with no knowledge of what you are getting into and what your interest is is a guaranteed failure. Do your homework first and then ask where to go next.

I work for a company that helps new owners get started and there is one thing we repeat often:

“People don’t plan to fail. People fail to plan.”

To set up an online business on the internet, you either sell a product/service as an affiliate, merchant, or a store owner, or you may decide to make money online as a freelancer.

A merchant is the creator/manufactuer/supplier of a product/service, while an affiliate/store owner earn commissions or fees for selling the products/services of the merchant, if you want to sell a product/service online whether you are a merchant, affiliate or store owner, you’ll need to choose a niche you know to sell to first, then determine the right product/service to sell to that niche, set up a website for it and then promote it, you’ll need to have the marketing knowledge of how to make money in your chosen niche in order to make money in your business on the internet.

On the other hand, if you choose to go freelance, you can start with writing articles for a fee, for websites such as these http://www.helium.com , http://www.associatedcontent.com, the only requirement here is that you must be good with what you write

    Hi Amanda,
I work from home, but because of the rules here I am not able to give you the websites. If you are interested in knowing more about it, check out my profile or email me and I would be happy to give you the website so you can check it out. It is fully legit.

This isn’t your own business, but I personally suggest doing surveys, since that’s what I’ve had success with. There are plenty of free sites out there, just ignore any site that asks you for money up front. I’m up to about $750 per month after doing this for a few years, but I only do them about 30 minutes a day, and some days not at all. Just be patient and sign up for as many free sites as you can. If you’re interested in some of the ones I use, just check out the source link, where I have written some pretty detailed overviews of what to expect.

    Hi Amanda…

In terms of advice for what to look/watch for, I would say research and evaluate each opportunity in order to choose wisely. In order to assess if a business is legit: check with the Better Business Bureau to see what their reputation is like, check to see how long the business has been around, and be wary of those that ask for money upfront!

Of the companies that appear to be legitimate, look to see what kind of training and ongoing support they’ll offer you, as that can be a crucial point to your success.

In terms of an actual recommendation – absolutely…I set up my home online business through a reputable company and love what I do…not supposed to give link here, so feel free to visit my website as on my profile.

And good luck! (And be patient, businesses take time to grow…they say the first 90 days is the hardest!)

There are so many different options out there to start a business via Internet. I would look into ones that you can do offline as well as on line as well. You don’t want to just limit yourself to solely Internet sales only. Broaden your range.
Your best bet is to partner up with a company that direct sales a product. That’s what we did. You can create a web site, or have the company set up a web site for you to sale the products and services. After you’ve set it up, you’ll have to generate traffic to your site as means of either advertisement (which you’ll have to spend a lot of money doing) or the more effective way is word of mouth and referals, which are free and more effective. Partner up with a company that gives you monthly earnings from services that you put people on either by in person, phone or from your web site. What I mean is for example a telecommunications service provider and all the cellular phone companies. Someone purchase a cell phone from our web site, or a land line or Internet service or whatever, the product it’self your able to provide at a whole sale cost as a distributer through the providers. When someone gets on the services, the company pays you a percentage of that person’s billing every single month, month after month for the referal from you by word of mouth or by your web site.
Get a product and or service that’s high in demand. If you create your own web site, make sure it’s professional looking and not cheesy like a lot of web sites look out there. I’m not a web master, so I had the company do mine for me.
Here’s a blog that I created on my yahoo 360 page on different home based business opportunities for on line and off line businesses. Your more then welcome to take a look at it for different ideas in different industries. A lot of information on scams, blogs, reports, as well as BBB. Interesting information that I have learned over the years that you should read on and educate yourself. The URL is:
